Belek is one of the centers of the Turkish golf tourism sector and home to more than thirty four star and five star resort hotels and numerous other accommodations, services and tourist facilities. There are over a dozen first-class golf courses in the Belek area and luxurious resort accommodations centered around golf holidays. These exquisite golf courses are carved through forests of eucalyptus and pine with the the snow capped Taurus Mountains for a backdrop in one direction and the Mediterranean Sea often in the other direction. For watersport enthusiasts there is also parasailing, scuba diving, jet skiing and paragliding. Out of the water there is horseback riding, bicycling, hiking and tennis. The Kurşunlu Waterfall is a place in Manavgat near Belek where there are over 100 bird species to be found. The hidden cave at the back of the waterfall is a popular place for visitors to explore. Also near Belek is the Hellenistic city of Perge, which is rated second after Ephesus for its extensive ruins, and also nearby is the great amphitheater of Aspendos that still today can hold over 15,000 spectators. The ancient Aspendos amphitheatre is over 2000 years old and still hosts open air ballet, opera and classical music festivals today. The Roman ruins at Perge are some of the best preserved archaeological sites in Turkey and the ruins in Side are one of the best known classical sites of antiquity in the country.
With extensive new blue flag beach park facilities with higher standards of cleanliness including new shower, toilet and changing facilities as well as car parking right at the beach. The beach is excellent with summer temperatures rarely dipping below 27C and a sea temperature of around 20C making it ideal for young families or couples that want to enjoy safe and calm seas. The Antalya Airport is not all that distant making transfers inexpensive and readily available. Many of the hotels are situated directly on the seafront with a selection of bars and restaurants convenient to the beach.
